FLAVEL MAINTENANCE YARD

This industrial site in SE Portland’s Lents District was purchased by Portland Parks & Recreation to house two separate maintenance working groups. The triangular site is located in a flood hazard area adjacent to the Springwater Trail Corridor.

The building’s structure is a pre-manufactured steel system. Skylight monitors above each main space provide ample daylight and natural ventilation. The project is designed using LEED Silver requirements. Sustainable elements include a transpired solar collector wall, a green roof, an Energy Star roof membrane, on-site storm water treatment, recycled content and low VOC materials, and an exterior envelope insulated above code minimums.
