Strauss on Burnside is a six story, ¾ block mixed use housing project in Portland’s emerging E. Burnside Bridgehead neighborhood. The 157-unit, brick clad apartment building offers studio, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments over generously proportioned ground floor retail spaces. The industrial influenced edifice contains a number of amenities, including a rooftop terrace. It also carefully conceals interior structured parking.
As a newcomer to a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood, this project had a unique approach to neighborliness. In addition to developing the housing component, our client also assisted Central City Concern, a provider of drug and alcohol services to renovate their facility, which takes up the remaining ¼ of the block on which Strauss on Burnside sits.
